On Tuesday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m., artist and historian George Stuart will  give the last of two monologue presentations related to the Museum's current exhibition "Liberty! The Genius of the People," which features 30 George Stuart Historical Figures®. The August 17 monologue entitled "Founders in Focus" will concentrate on the conflicting personalities who determined America’s direction during our formative years.
 
The monologues will take place in the museum’s new Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Pavilion. Admission is $15 for the general public, $10 for museum members; members of the George Stuart Historical Figures® Guild may attend at no charge. For reservations, call (805) 653-0323 x 305.
 
The George Stuart Historical Figures®  are now on full gallery exhibition for the first time in two years, returned  to the Smith Gallery in revolving exhibits at the museum’s new and renovated facility at 100 East Main Street in Ventura. Liberty! ends September 12. The figures are one-quarter, life-size sculptures renowned for their expressiveness and intricately detailed costumes. Personalities depicted in the current exhibit include George III, Benjamin Franklin, Dolley Madison, Aaron Burr, Benedict Arnold, Martha Washington, Thomas Paine, and Patrick Henry.
